CULTURE

The Bear River Band Cultural Coordinators serve as points of contact for all aspects of culture within Bear River Band, and organize events, meetings, and activities for Tribal members, throughout the Tribal Territory. Some of our recent Member events include women's and men's cultural evenings and sweats, clapper construction, ceremonial regalia education and creation, film nights, dance rehearsals, weaving, cooking classes, and plant identification and ethnobotany. Our museum provides a safe place for collections, and serves as an inspiration for Tribal members and Staff. An important current project is to document language through interviews with Elders. Our coordinators also have experience providing fun and educational workshops and activities to after-school programs and primary school classrooms in Fortuna, Eureka, and Arcata. We look forward to engaging with your group!

Please contact us by email if you are a Tribal member and would like to suggest an activity, or to request a visit to your Humboldt County school or after-school program.
